Im a Freelance HUMA / SFX Prosthetic technician. I have worked with various clients to complete simple make-up looks and larger projects, including prosthetics and SFX to bring their visions alive.

My mindset is “your past does not determine your future”. In 2015 after the birth of my second child, I wondered what is next? Shortly after this I found my love for Special Effects and Make-up. Family is an important to me, it was my children that created my logo and name BondedFX. This value pushes me each day, so I can show my children that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams. Everyone has a passion; it just needs to be discovered.

I use my enthusiasm to plan, create and execute all projects, making them as spectacular and unforgettable as my skills allow. My keen eye for detail and perfection is paramount to achieve this. Engaging in large projects means there will be challenges to overcome, I use my creativity to see solutions others may miss. My ability to work under pressure ignites my initiative to think outside the box, and remove the challenges ahead. Unexpected hurdles can range from a different perspective or a look that requires alterations or other application techniques due to damaged pieces. I recognises that education is the beginning; ultimately, you never stop learning and advancing your knowledge. I have gained my 1st Class BA (Hons) Degree in Hair and Media Make-up for Film/ T.V, with my lack of Industry experience I see myself still training in the real world. This attitude leads me to desire more, to push my limits while simultaneously perfecting my skills.

The most incredible opportunity this year has to be, securing the role of Supervisor in the HMUA team for the Commonwealth Games 2022. My engagement and reliability at UCB (University College Birmingham) is well known; this is a perception I hold highly and plan to show others. In my first year at UCB, I entered the internal make-up competition; I won and earned my place on the national team.

Now I have my 1st BA Degree I want to grow my skills and experiences. I have now started my next goal, gaining my Master’s in Prosthetics Degree. I am also a fully qualified Nail Technician. I take pride in all my achievements and I’m eager to learn more on my Master’s journey.
